Ceramic Pipe Making Class- January
Roll it, shape it, fire it.
Service Description
Ever wanted to turn a lump of clay into a fully functional work of art? In this ceramic pipe making class, students will learn how to hand-build their own custom pipe from start to finish—no wheel required, just creativity and a willingness to get a little muddy. We’ll cover basic handbuilding techniques, design tips, and how to make pieces that actually work (yes, airflow matters). Expect laughs, creative freedom, and a few wonky masterpieces along the way. The class is taught by Mia Connoly, a graduate of Metro State University, who knows her clay, loves a good design challenge, and promises a judgment-free zone for all artistic choices—no matter how abstract. All materials, glazing, and firing are included. Beginners welcome. Good vibes encouraged. **This is a sculpting class -- NOT on the wheel** *The additional photos on this listing are of creation examples for inspiration purposes only* Additional Information: Your creations will be ready for pickup from the studio approximately 2-3 weeks from the workshop date. You should receive a pickup email when they're finished, but if it is eaten by filters, please come by the studio after 4 weeks to check on your pots or send us an email. Any pottery left at the studio 6 weeks after the workshop date will be donated, so please pick up your work in time! YOU MUST SIGN YOUR POTTERY. Denver Ceramic Studio is not liable for lost pieces that are unsigned and mistakenly claimed by another student. Not all pieces are guaranteed to make it out of the kiln if instructions are not followed. Inconsistencies in thickness can cause cracks or even shattering in the firing process. However, the goal is to just have fun, so don’t stress about it!
