Handmade Cell Phone Holder- January
In Honor of the First iPhone
Service Description
On January 9, 2007, the world changed forever. Buttons disappeared. Phones got smarter. And suddenly, none of us knew where to set our phones down. This workshop is a loving tribute to that historic moment—and a chance to finally give your phone the throne it deserves. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a handmade cell phone holder designed to cradle your device in style while you scroll, stream, text, and ignore emails like a pro. Make it sleek, silly, minimalist, or wildly impractical (we’ll gently guide you back to “functional”). No experience needed—if you’ve owned a phone since 2007 or just learned what an iPhone is, you’re welcome here. Expect laughs, creativity, and at least one “Wow, I really did make that” moment. Because after all these years, your phone deserves a proper resting place. The class is taught by Mia Connoly, a graduate of Metro State University, who knows her clay, loves a good design challenge, and promises a judgment-free zone for all artistic choices—no matter how abstract. All materials, glazing, and firing are included. Beginners welcome. Good vibes encouraged. **This is a sculpting class -- NOT on the wheel** *The additional photos on this listing are of creation examples for inspiration purposes only* Additional Information: Your creations will be ready for pickup from the studio approximately 2-3 weeks from the workshop date. You should receive a pickup email when they're finished, but if it is eaten by filters, please come by the studio after 4 weeks to check on your pots or send us an email. Any pottery left at the studio 6 weeks after the workshop date will be donated, so please pick up your work in time! YOU MUST SIGN YOUR POTTERY. Denver Ceramic Studio is not liable for lost pieces that are unsigned and mistakenly claimed by another student. Not all pieces are guaranteed to make it out of the kiln if instructions are not followed. Inconsistencies in thickness can cause cracks or even shattering in the firing process. However, the goal is to just have fun, so don’t stress about it!
